L4mes4uce, could you make the shield? (use the ref pic on the last page) Every attempt I have made sucked. If you can model it, I can take care of everything else.

I'm thinking it would go with the one-handed weapons as the melee attack.

By melee you mean the weapons would be doing the melee, correct?

I honestly think it would be best to be able to extend or ready the shield for a block.

im not an expert in this stuff so this might be dumb ,but you could change it to the overshield that you can get and some how hold it, and it gives you extra defense

And for the idea, how about we do the melee attack Gears of War 2 execution style? Overhead smash with base of the shield.

Still not seeing what you mean. Are you saying the shield would protect the entire body from an attack even if it was from behind?

We need to get Lamesauce in here to model this. He has not returned since he said he was coming back.

make it a mod2 with a collision model engineered so it takes all the damage for the parent mod2, but make it a secondary trigger weapon

That's kind of what I am going for. Except I don't have to do anything to make the shield block attacks. The composition of the material will handle any blow.

ANd I will sort out primary trigger of shield (extend block) and secondary (shield smash).
